Address Poisoning

Definition
A deceptive tactic malicious actors use to trick users into sending cryptocurrency to an incorrect address.
Description

Unlike phishing attacks, which often involve social engineering and malicious websites, address poisoning operates within the blockchain's infrastructure.

In this type of attack, attackers aims to "poison" a user's address book by flooding it with transactions originating from addresses controlled by the attacker, hoping that these addresses will end up in the user's address book - and the user will mistakenly send funds to one of these fraudulent addresses in the future.
